AIRPORTS

There are a number of major airports located within driving distance, we recommend Burlington, Vermont and Manchester, New Hampshire airports. Both are smaller, easy to get around, with less traveler traffic security and check-in goes quickly. Both Logan and Albany’s Airport’s offer small commuter plane service to the Rutland Vermont Airport.

Burlington Airport – Burlington, Vermont – Approximately 1.75-hour drive

Albany Airport – Albany, New York – Approximately 2-hour drive

Manchester Regional Airport – Manchester, New Hampshire -Approximately 2.25-hour drive

Logan Airport – Boston, Massachusetts – Approximately 2.75-hour drive

Bradley Airport – Hartford, Connecticut – Approximately 3-hour drive

COMMUTER AIRPORTS

Please note these small commuter airports use ten passenger propeller planes. They are so small, up close and personal that you can talk with the pilot, see the instruments and look out the cockpit window!

The Rutland, Vermont Airport is the closest commuter airport to Killington, located approximately 35 minutes away. Several daily flights fly between Boston’s Logan and Albany’s Airport to the Rutland Airport. From the Rutland Airport guests can take Lyft or ATA’s shuttle service to the North Star Inn. However, currently there are no rental cars available at the airport except Enterprise rentals in Rutland, Vermont, that closes at 6 p.m. In addition, the Lebanon, New Hampshire Airport is located approximately 55 minutes away. From the Lebanon Airport guests can take Uber, Lyft or ATA’s shuttle service to the North Star Inn located in Killington, Vermont.

CAR RENTALS

Rental cars are available from all airports. Guest traveling from father away we recommend a rental car, this allows you to explore more of Vermont after our day finishes. With ATA’s flexible dinner time, some hikers finish the day with ATA, shower, then drive themselves to a quaint village, go shopping or to do whatever they wish. Returning later on their time schedule back at the Inn for dinner.

BUSES

This is a slower transportation method, you can read a book, watch a movie, listen to music or enjoy the scenery along the bus ride. From Boston it’s just under 3.0 hours. From Hartford, Connecticut, the ride time is 6 hours. Two companies provided service to our area; Grey Hound Bus station is located in White River Junction, Vermont (45 minutes away) and the Dartmouth Coach has a station in Lebanon, New Hampshire (60 minutes away). From the bus stations guests can take Uber, Lyft or ATA’s shuttle service to North Star Inn in Killington, Vermont.
